Thank you Bob!

After more than five decades of dedication to the Mooretown Flags, we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Bob Barnes for his incredible service as President of the Mooretown Flags Jr. Hockey Club.

Bob’s journey with the Flags began in 1972 when he joined the organization as the team’s trainer. In 1992, he took on the role of President, a position he has proudly held while helping guide the organization through some of its most memorable years.

One of Bob’s most significant contributions was his leadership in the fundraising efforts and planning that made our dressing room project a reality. Thanks to the countless hours invested by Bob and so many dedicated volunteers, the dressing rooms opened in 1999 and continue to serve generations of Flags players today.

Behind every great volunteer is often another great volunteer, and we’d also like to recognize Maureen Barnes. Together, Bob and Maureen have donated an immeasurable amount of their time, energy, and passion to the Mooretown Flags and our hockey community. Their commitment has helped shape this organization into what it is today.

While Bob is stepping away from the President’s role, we’re fortunate that he isn’t going far. He’ll continue volunteering with the team, lending a hand around the arena and in the skate sharpening booth.

If you see Bob around the rink this season, please take a moment to shake his hand, say hello, and thank him for everything he has done—and continues to do—for the Mooretown Flags.
